Jacob Hawk

Jacob Hawk 33 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born on November 4, 1991 in Athens, Ohio.

Jacob was a graduate of Berne Union High School where he met his high school sweetheart Stephanie Brill. He was an U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran serving in Afghanistan where he was wounded in action and later stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Jacob was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Corporal.

He was a tow truck operator after serving his country and enjoyed UFC, Joe Rogan and fishing with kids. Jacob also liked to take Uriah out to play arcade games. He spent time at the gym doing weight lifting, loved to learn new things along with cooking on the grill for his family and friends.

Jacob is survived by his wife of 13 years, Stephanie; son, Uriah Hawk of the home; mother, Pamela (Mike) Bauer of Sugar Grove; father, Todd (Joyce) Hawk of Newark; grandparents, Paul and Rebecca Kurfis of Hide-A-Way Hills and Jill Lanning of Zanesville; brothers, Brandon (Taylor) Hawk of Nelsonville, Isaec Hawk of Lancaster, Carson and John Bauer of Sugar Grove; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Heather Brill of Lancaster; sister-in-law, Katlyn (David) Covell of Lancaster; aunt, Kim (Keith) Vanhoose and uncle, Scott (Aimee) Kurfis; niece and nephews, Chip and Arbor Hawk, Calvin, Savannah and Vincent Covell.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, William and Alice Hawk.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore, Ohio with Chaplain Mark Linn officiating. The Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, LANCASTER, OHIO and visiting from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
