Matthew B. Peters, 48, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026.

Born on April 15, 1978, to Larry Peters and the late Gail Peters, Matthew brought warmth, dedication, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A hard worker with a natural talent for leadership, Matthew took immense pride in his career as a superintendent. His work ethic was matched only by his vibrant personality and his unwavering loyalty as a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. Whether it was game day or any ordinary day, his enthusiasm for his team was a central part of who he was.

Above all else, family was the cornerstone of Matthew's life.

He is survived and deeply missed by his devoted wife, Marites (Tess) Peters, and his beloved father, Larry Peters. His legacy lives on through his cherished children: Taylor Peters, Emily Peters, Brooklyn Harmon, Maddox Peters, and Mylene Audije; and grandson, Nathan Peters.

He also leaves behind his loving sister, Lynne Peters; his dear aunt, Linda Eschman; his cousins, James Eschman and Rhonda Eschman; as well as a wide circle of extended family and lifelong friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Matthew was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gail Peters, with whom he is now peacefully reunited.

Visitation for Matt will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Friends and family may visit again on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 11:00 am until noon, with the funeral service starting at noon, officiated by Rev. Jill Dunlap. Burial will follow the service at Amanda Township Cemetery, Amanda, OH.
